I used the Scissors to cut out all of the Gears of War 2 characters. I then copied the image and it went into my tools, so I just had to click on paintbrush and paste it into my background without using any layers. I also took the context from Call of Duty 4. Like when a grenade is thrown in Call of Duty a grenade indicator will pop up saying there is a grenade there, I used that to spot out the ticker, a character from Gears of War, cause the tickers blow up as the one is underneath the tank. I would have to say that i am really happy with the first person view I have.

In this I used the healing tool to get rid of her wrinkles. I used color from not only her skin, but also from the other girl beside her. In the process of getting rid of her wrinkles she became tanner. Also in the original picture she had wrinkles on her neck and those were really hard to cover up so I copied some of her turtle neck and pasted it up so the neck would be higher inorder to cover those wrinkles.
To make her eyes less old looking I used the smudge tool to blend her eye shadow. Then to make her eyes more defined I added a low opacity pencil line along the top of the eye to be like eye liner.

Pacman needs a diet

I started off on the picture with a back drop of pacman. I took a pictuer of a cheeseburger and put them in for all the plelets that pacman eats. I then replaced the big pelets that pacman eats with an ice cream cone. I then erased the blue lines around pacman and mad pacman fat. I then made the lines go around him as if her were bending them around his body.
Skeletor
E=MC^2 part 2
I finally got the Einstein picture to upload properly and show up on the blog. What I did in this picture what i selected the arm with the free select tool then used the rotate tool to rotate it. I then used the clone tool in order to fill in the blank area around his arm. I used the clone tool in order to add the smoke coming from his tobacco pipe. I made new layers and used the colorize in Gimp in order to give him the different colors and i used the desaturate tool in order to make him look either real or cartoonish.
I took 2 pictures of our varsity basketball team in our pre game huddle. I just used the layering effect and then went to filters, animation and then optimize for gif. That take a few seconds to do then you got back to filters and animate and press play and you can watch it. It was pretty simple and only took me a few minutes.

This is a picture that was take during the last semi-formal dance at baps of my girlfriend and myself. In the original picture we had horrible red eye. I took the red eye away by using the Ellipse tool and i selected the eyes in the picture. I then used the colorize option to change the color back to what our eyes auctually are. I then used the healing tool to eliminate the blemishes on both of us.

~SQUEE~!
Clash of the Titans
I did this by using the scissor tool to cut out all of my characters. I made it so Fox McCloud is shooting at Petter Griffin and Patrick Star. I also added two banshees from Halo 3. I then used the scissor tool again to make my background which is a Mario background. Just in case you have not played Mario, Petter and Patrick are running to the flag to win the "game", while Fox and the Banshees are trying to distroy thiem.
Me and Nick getting just about to go sailing.
This is me and nick. The first thing I did was cut me and nicks' heads out of a picture of the two of us then found two bodies to go with the heads. Then I found the other pictures like the beach, net, and sail boat and used the scissors to cut out the backgrounds of the original pictures and then I put them all together to get this.
Why you should wrestle

To make this I took a picture off Google and pasted my face onto it. I had to fill in the background because this guy's head was bigger that mine. To make my face this type of red I used the Hue Saturation editor under the Colors tab.

When Games Meet

I took characters of of multiple games to create a weird showdown. The characters are Ryu (big guy in white) from Street Fighter, Star Fox (the one with the gun) from the Star Fox series, Kirby (pink round thing) from the Kirby series, Sub Zero (blue guy) from the the Mortal Kombat games, and lastly Mario (small red plumber) from the Mario games. All I did was find a 2d image of each character and use the scisors to cut them from their picture. Then I put them on the Mario background.
Matt D. as a somalian

I found this picture i decided to put Kyle's face on top of the other guy's face. I used the foreground select tool to cut Kyle's face out, and then I copy and pasted it on to the other layer. I used the scale and rotate tool in order to make his face the right size and angle. And finally i used the smudge tool to blend his neck in with the original guy's neck color.
Breaking Benjamin
This is a picture i did of my favorite band Breaking Benjamin. I started off with a picture of the people in the band. I then took the album art from their three albums and put them in the picture. For the one in the background i created a new layer and placed the picture over them. I then erased the picture away to expose their bodies. I then cut out and put on the other pieces of album art. More Freckles and eye color changes

In this picture I also removed all of their freckles. I also removed some of the hair from the girl in the middle's face by using the bandaid tool and putting skin over the strands of hair. I also changed her eye color from a greenish color to more of a bluish hue. I used the colorize tool for this by using an ellipse to shape her eyes and then right clicking to get color and clicking colorize. This time I remembered the numbers that went with the colors so that both eyes have the same exact tint. I made all of their teeth a little whiter by using the airbrush paintbrush and changing the opacity to a lower setting. If you look closely you can also see a freckle on the girl of the way to the right (her neck) which I also removed by using te bandaid tool.

I got inspiration for this picture after seeing Aaron dressed as a girl a few days ago. In order to make his face fit into the picture i scaled it and adjusted the colors to better match his skin tone to that of the girls. I then copied the girls hair and pasted it over his face to make it more realistic.

Jack the Revolutionary
The mask tool in particular is really handy for creating an area to fill in with the bucket tool. You can check out a great tutorial for this method here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yupmgRJqwTc

My uncle lived his life long dream and finally hiked Mt. Katahdin with my family in the last fall. His 60th birthday is this spring so I made a picture that shows his accomplishment. I cropped a picture of my family at the top of Mt. Katahdin using the scissors tool. Then I just pasted it on top of a picture of the Mountain. It was kinda of challenging using the picture I did because my uncle was kneeling in some rocks so his leg looks a little chopped up.
Party with Obama

what i did here was copied three different pictures using the free select tool, and the rectangle select tool to crop the background so it would all fit. after i got them all together i put a green glow around them to make it look like we were all at a laser show. I also cut off the top of Adams head so i had to draw it back in using the paintbrush tool. to get the same color as the rest of his hair i used the color picker tool so it would look real.
No Black Horse, Yet there are Cherry Trees

Original.
New one.I picked out a simple background of cherry trees from the Internet and I cut the characters from the original Naruto picture and put them one here. (The black-haired one is named Shikamaru, the other is named Gaara.) I like how it came out, mainly because it really does work out. (I was going to add more, but I figured cluttering it up wouldn't make it feel quite right, ja?)

The process for creating animated gifs in Gimp is fairly straight forward. Basically you can animate any multi layered project. In this case I simply created 10 layers/copies of the Homer image and changed the color of each slightly. Once that was done I selected filter>animation>optimize for gif. When you save the file you need to make sure to save it as a .gif. When the file is exporting you need to make sure to save it as an animation and that it animates as one frame per layer.
The trickier part was figuring out how to get the animated gif to show up on Blogger. It was pretty straight forward once I figured it out:
1. Upload to www.tinypic.com
2. Click on "Share on MySpace"
3. use the blog forum procedure and copy the thumbnail direct link.
4. In blogger use the add image procedure, but rather than uploading an image copy the tinyurl
Pretty easy, just takes a few steps. I'll show everyone how to do this tomorrow and maybe we'll play with some simple flipbook-stop action type animation.
Using the Curves Tool to Make Colors Stand Out

On this girl I removed her freckles using the band aid tool. I selected part of her chin to cover her freckles. I also played around and Removed her necklace and the wrinkle in her neck using the same technique. Then I tried removing the letters from her shirt using the same tool but I found that the product was better after I used the dropper tool to match her shirt then painted over the letters then used the band aid tool to cover it up.
Cat
Beach

When making this is started with a completly empty beach scene. I copied off a seagull and placed it in the foreground. I then found a picture of a couple walking along the beach in the sand i copied them off of the pictuer and added them. I repeated the same process with the child, sailboat, and lighthouse. After adding the objects i realiozed that they were very obviously lighter than the general color scheme of the pictuer so i took a ligh grey paitbrush to them all with a lover opacity to darken them to fit the picture better.
In this photo I started with the picture on the left and then transformed it to the picture on the right. The first thing that I did was eliminated most of his freckles. The way I did this was by selecting from the toolbox the healing tool and then found a spot on the original picture that did not have any freckles, then I pushed in the ctrl key and clicked. To begin eliminating freckles what I did was clicked on anywhere there were any freckles and then they would disappear. After getting rid of all his freckles I next whitened his teeth. To whiten teeth what you have to do is select the paint brush and change it to white. Next change the opacity level to the lowest it can be then change the size of the paintbrush to fit the tooth size.
Me in the desert
Broken Screen

no freckles/ color change

original
The original image had freckles and green eyes as shown above. I removed her freckles just to play around with the tool by using the bandaid button. I just chose a portion of her skin that did not have freckles by holding down the control button and then clicking on the freckles to remove them. I had to change the selected section of freckless skin however, because her skin tones changed throughout the image and there are shadows. I also changed the color of her eyes by selecting the ellipse tool and fitting the ellipse to the shape of her eye. After that all you have to do is right click and scroll down to colors and then go over to colorize to select the lightness, hue and color that you want to change to.
