Desert Cliff
I did this by taking a photo off Google and selectively smudging, then I blurred the edges of the smudges to give it a more blended look. I had to smudge horizontally to show the different layers of rock that are common in the desert.
Pat this is a really cool image and a creative technique. Really good uses of light and dark. See if you can do something similar using just the painting tools themselves.
This is a striking digital landscape. I think the use of the dark gray in the upper left hand corner of the clouds (and not in any other part of the sky) gives it a very realistic, aesthetically pleasing quality.
