The Earth

For this I used the airbrush tool to draw what I wanted and then smudged it to get the earth look and the death star look. I used the fuzzy circle tool to shade around the earth and the death star. for the laser beam I drew a line with the paintbrush and then made it fuzzy with the blur tool. I added stars with the paintbrush and used the blur tool to blur them again.

For my image it took me a little while to figure out how to actually create depth in this picture. I realized that in order to do this you have to shade your colors. (Darker to look closer and lighter to appear far away.) Also, something I had trouble with was creating the waves in the water. I discovered that in order to do this you basically just use the smug tool a lot. I based this picture on one I found on goodleimages and it took me about 4 class periods.

These twopainting were focused on 2 different landscapes. The one with comet is an auctual picture of the comet Hale-Bopp over Lake Mono. I was inspired by it from a project i did in astronomy class last semester. To make the ripples in the water i used the galaxy paintbrush and achieved the desired effect through pretty evenly distributing it throughout the paining.

The Arctic landscape was a picture i came across on google images. You can tell the individual icicles in the cave that are dripping down. I got them from using the circle fuzzy tool. I make the rays of the sun using the same tool but i made them fade out as i went. The sky in the background was created by using different shades of blue that i attempted to blend in to each other using the smudge tool.

Bobbie Mic Ross

This image came directly from the heart. I used the Galaxy small paintbrush in order to make the clouds as well as the grass. I used the smudge tool in order to make the sun.

Another attempt at a Bob Ross "original". I used the "How to Paint like Bob Ross" link on bapstmoodle as a model and for some instructions. On this one I used the calligraphy brush setting for the paintbrush a lot more than I had previously, it was particularly useful for creating the cascading snow on the peaks. To create depth/shadow I used a slightly darker shade of "white" on the left hand side of the ridges. Getting better at the mountains, but still haven't quite figured out how to create branches and foliage like Bob did with his fan brush. This took me about 2 hours to create...getting better....
