volcano eruption

I made this in one class. i just took one picture and airbrushed out most of it and left a little more of the picture in each successive slide

I first began with the photo on the right and transformed it to the photo on the left. What I did first was fixed and whitened his teeth. This is a very simple task to do. First I fixed his chipped teeth with the paint brush and then whitened them by changing the opacity level to zero. Then what I did was tried to remove his facial hair. This was a very hard task to do, nearly impossible. I tired numerous tools from by toolbar and I was unable to remove the hair on his face. So I finally gave up and decided to just remove the hair that was on his collar.

The Cookie Predicament

This is the new one. I modified the colours mostly using the airbrush with a low opacity. I pasted the yellow-haired one by cutting it from it's original image and put it where it is now. (If you want to read it, you may need to click on the image for a better look...) I changed mostly all the colours of the characters. It is indeed very strangely odd.

This is the original.

This is the OTHER original...

Tan lines

To get rid of this person's tan lines, i simply used the clone tool and just dragged it across the whole leg. You could see the lines of the cloneing so I smudged it in a little bit to make it look more real.

what would you do on your last day?

I made this animation because I wanted to make some thing that was dramatic and made people think. Basically I cut out everything but the background. I made a black background then put a bunch of white dots and some colored ones and then used the blur tool on most of the stars. To make the animation I optimized the thing for gimp then I just duplicated the meteor a lot and every one I moved it a bit closer. At the end I put the exploded earth.

Ocean Wave

To make this i found a picture of a wave on google. From there I made several layers and on each layer i cut a little bit of the wave off on each one in order make it look like the wave was getting bigger. Each time i cut some of the wave off, i would color and smudge the sky and water around it to make it look normal.

Chillin' in compton wit my poket protekta

With this picture i started with a NWA picture then added a nerd to the picture by cutting and pasting. I then cut off one of his arms using the clone tool and added a gang sign for his right hand. Since the hand was black used the clone tool to make it look white. I then cut out a Compton hat and put it on his head. After the pasting I fixed the edges around his body to make it look like he was in the foreground of the picture.

I choose you Danny Michaud

I used a pokemon card as the background. I then took a picture of Danny and cut him out and pasted him into the card. I used another layer for text.

Mona Lisa Becomes Pope

Using Wikipedia's random article button, came upon a picture of some pope. Then I just scaled down a pictur of the Mona Lisa and put her face in.

Quick Edit/ Venom taking over Halo

This was just a quick edit off a Halo Pic. What I did was selective filling and painting with the paintbrush. If you get a picture off the internet it will already have set areas. The splatter effect was made by filling in certain areas of the grass and painting the ones that were to big or small.

Woman with freckles

The image on the right is the original photo and the one on the left is the one I modified. For this women I first used the healing tool to remove her freckles. I next whitened her teeth by using the paint brush and lowered the opacity. The thing I had trouble with was coloring her hair. The trouble I had was actually selecting her hair, I finally figured out that in order to do this you must go select menu and click from path to select it. After I got this accomplished I use the hue-saturation under the colors menu and changed the color to a chocolate brown.

Swimmer

This is just a quick clip made using pivot. It's just an easier way of showing different slides--much like going between layers in gimp.

Bums in suits

In this picture I took the normal southern lifestyle and gave it some class with the hip cut-off suit and golfing fedora by cutting and pasting then onto the head and body of the two men. I then used the clone tool in order to make the two objects blend in with their body posture. I also used the clone tool in order to cover up his stomache.

Halo Duck Hunt

I started off by getting a screen-shot of the game Dunk Hunt. Then I cut out the black duck and pasted it multiple times around the screen. I also rotated the duck a few times so them would not all be the same. I then cut out the assault rifle from a Halo picture and made it a new layer on the background.

Call of Duty Clash

I used the Scissors to cut out all of the Gears of War 2 characters. I then copied the image and it went into my tools, so I just had to click on paintbrush and paste it into my background without using any layers. I also took the context from Call of Duty 4. Like when a grenade is thrown in Call of Duty a grenade indicator will pop up saying there is a grenade there, I used that to spot out the ticker, a character from Gears of War, cause the tickers blow up as the one is underneath the tank. I would have to say that i am really happy with the first person view I have.

In this I used the healing tool to get rid of her wrinkles. I used color from not only her skin, but also from the other girl beside her. In the process of getting rid of her wrinkles she became tanner. Also in the original picture she had wrinkles on her neck and those were really hard to cover up so I copied some of her turtle neck and pasted it up so the neck would be higher inorder to cover those wrinkles.
To make her eyes less old looking I used the smudge tool to blend her eye shadow. Then to make her eyes more defined I added a low opacity pencil line along the top of the eye to be like eye liner.

Pacman needs a diet

I started off on the picture with a back drop of pacman. I took a pictuer of a cheeseburger and put them in for all the plelets that pacman eats. I then replaced the big pelets that pacman eats with an ice cream cone. I then erased the blue lines around pacman and mad pacman fat. I then made the lines go around him as if her were bending them around his body.

ok. i uploaded it right this time.

Skeletor

I took a picture of skeletor and seletcted his arm and mouth with the cut tool then used the perspective tool to change its position from frame to frame.

E=MC^2 part 2

I finally got the Einstein picture to upload properly and show up on the blog. What I did in this picture what i selected the arm with the free select tool then used the rotate tool to rotate it. I then used the clone tool in order to fill in the blank area around his arm. I used the clone tool in order to add the smoke coming from his tobacco pipe. I made new layers and used the colorize in Gimp in order to give him the different colors and i used the desaturate tool in order to make him look either real or cartoonish.

I took 2 pictures of our varsity basketball team in our pre game huddle. I just used the layering effect and then went to filters, animation and then optimize for gif. That take a few seconds to do then you got back to filters and animate and press play and you can watch it. It was pretty simple and only took me a few minutes.

This is a picture that was take during the last semi-formal dance at baps of my girlfriend and myself. In the original picture we had horrible red eye. I took the red eye away by using the Ellipse tool and i selected the eyes in the picture. I then used the colorize option to change the color back to what our eyes auctually are. I then used the healing tool to eliminate the blemishes on both of us.

~SQUEE~!

Thia is a test pf one pf my favourtie characters I've created. It's named SQUEE! Ain't it cute? I love it! I mainly followed directions from Mr. Champney to do this. I'm going to try to do a more complex one, but this one was my test one. ^_^

E=MC^2

Clash of the Titans

I did this by using the scissor tool to cut out all of my characters. I made it so Fox McCloud is shooting at Petter Griffin and Patrick Star. I also added two banshees from Halo 3. I then used the scissor tool again to make my background which is a Mario background. Just in case you have not played Mario, Petter and Patrick are running to the flag to win the "game", while Fox and the Banshees are trying to distroy thiem.

Me and Nick getting just about to go sailing.

This is me and nick. The first thing I did was cut me and nicks' heads out of a picture of the two of us then found two bodies to go with the heads. Then I found the other pictures like the beach, net, and sail boat and used the scissors to cut out the backgrounds of the original pictures and then I put them all together to get this.

Why you should wrestle

To make this I took a picture off Google and pasted my face onto it. I had to fill in the background because this guy's head was bigger that mine. To make my face this type of red I used the Hue Saturation editor under the Colors tab.

When Games Meet

I took characters of of multiple games to create a weird showdown. The characters are Ryu (big guy in white) from Street Fighter, Star Fox (the one with the gun) from the Star Fox series, Kirby (pink round thing) from the Kirby series, Sub Zero (blue guy) from the the Mortal Kombat games, and lastly Mario (small red plumber) from the Mario games. All I did was find a 2d image of each character and use the scisors to cut them from their picture. Then I put them on the Mario background.

Matt D. as a somalian

In this photo I took a pic of matt deschesne and put his face over the face of a somalian hip-hop artist. however matt isn't african so I had to mess around with the color balance, hue, and saturation of the colors on the layer for his face in order to create this.

I found this picture i decided to put Kyle's face on top of the other guy's face. I used the foreground select tool to cut Kyle's face out, and then I copy and pasted it on to the other layer. I used the scale and rotate tool in order to make his face the right size and angle. And finally i used the smudge tool to blend his neck in with the original guy's neck color.

Breaking Benjamin

This is a picture i did of my favorite band Breaking Benjamin. I started off with a picture of the people in the band. I then took the album art from their three albums and put them in the picture. For the one in the background i created a new layer and placed the picture over them. I then erased the picture away to expose their bodies. I then cut out and put on the other pieces of album art.

More Freckles and eye color changes

In this picture I also removed all of their freckles. I also removed some of the hair from the girl in the middle's face by using the bandaid tool and putting skin over the strands of hair. I also changed her eye color from a greenish color to more of a bluish hue. I used the colorize tool for this by using an ellipse to shape her eyes and then right clicking to get color and clicking colorize. This time I remembered the numbers that went with the colors so that both eyes have the same exact tint. I made all of their teeth a little whiter by using the airbrush paintbrush and changing the opacity to a lower setting. If you look closely you can also see a freckle on the girl of the way to the right (her neck) which I also removed by using te bandaid tool.

I got inspiration for this picture after seeing Aaron dressed as a girl a few days ago. In order to make his face fit into the picture i scaled it and adjusted the colors to better match his skin tone to that of the girls. I then copied the girls hair and pasted it over his face to make it more realistic.

Jack the Revolutionary

Yes, I happen to have some pictures of the dog on my hard drive at work...so here's another where I tried to create the iconic Che Guevara type image that you see on t-shirts and posters using Jack, the Springer instead of Che. For this one I played with a few editing tools: 1. mask 2. colorize 3. threshold and 4. layer types (in this case multiply).

The mask tool in particular is really handy for creating an area to fill in with the bucket tool. You can check out a great tutorial for this method here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yupmgRJqwTc

My uncle lived his life long dream and finally hiked Mt. Katahdin with my family in the last fall. His 60th birthday is this spring so I made a picture that shows his accomplishment. I cropped a picture of my family at the top of Mt. Katahdin using the scissors tool. Then I just pasted it on top of a picture of the Mountain. It was kinda of challenging using the picture I did because my uncle was kneeling in some rocks so his leg looks a little chopped up.

Party with Obama

what i did here was copied three different pictures using the free select tool, and the rectangle select tool to crop the background so it would all fit. after i got them all together i put a green glow around them to make it look like we were all at a laser show. I also cut off the top of Adams head so i had to draw it back in using the paintbrush tool. to get the same color as the rest of his hair i used the color picker tool so it would look real.
