For my image it took me a little while to figure out how to actually create depth in this picture. I realized that in order to do this you have to shade your colors. (Darker to look closer and lighter to appear far away.) Also, something I had trouble with was creating the waves in the water. I discovered that in order to do this you basically just use the smug tool a lot. I based this picture on one I found on goodleimages and it took me about 4 class periods.

  1. Nice job Kylie. This came a long way in a couple of days. Really started out looking flat, but your perseverance with the smudge tool really paid off. I particularly like the structures off in the distance against the sunset.

  2. Pretty! I really like the colors in the sky! The way you smudged things in looks nice. I also like where the waves are crashing into the sand, it looks real. Nice work!

  3. Kylie, this turned out very good! You worked really hard on it and it definitely shows. The waves turned out really well, I know that at the beginning you didn't know how you were going to do them. Your use of different shades of colors really show depth. I really like how you created the sky with the different colors. You did a wonderful job!

  4. I love the buildings against the sky because they really do look far away and have the perseption that the original work had. The buildings kind of go around the water which makes the perspective really great--like you are looking down the river. I love the colors of the sky!

  5. This is absolutely beautiful; the midnight blue contrasts spectacularly with the orange and turquoise in the sky.

  6. This image makes me want to get to that far off place where there is a pink glow in the sky. I love the progression from dark to light and the contrast of really bold color to a whisper. I was really attracted to this. Mrs. Grover
